Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: HIS Radeon 7000 64MB (64 bit) DDR DVI VGA TV-Out PCI Low Profile Video Card Retail (RoHS) H700H64P (Personal Computers)
I purchased this card from Amazon as a replacement for an old Trident PCI card.

Judging by other similiar ATI cards like it, such as Rage XL, etc. they have 8-32
Mb of VRAM and most run 16 bit, 256 colors. The HIS Radeon 7000 ran at 32 bit with
256 colors, on a Pentium I 233Mhz w/66Mhz FSB, 256Mb SDRAM and a CTX EX951F CRT.
It made a noticable and significant improvement running at 32 bit vs. 16 bit.

Believe it or not, this card ran in this old computer using only 5-7% more system
resources than the Trident, using Windows 98 and 98SE. Using a 7200rpm WD100AABB
instead of a Fujitsu 5400rpm IDE HDD also made a BIG difference in loading speed
and my screen would 'blank out' for a second while the system booted until the
VRAM in the HIS Radeon took over display tasks. Fortunately the drivers are still
available for this card from Analog Device's website.

I doubt anyone else would have tried a video card like this... Read more
