3.0 out of 5 stars Not good for everyday use, November 11, 2011
This review is from: InStep Journey double Bike Trailer (Sports)
We bought this trailer on clearance at Target last year and used it every now and then for our 25 pound toddler when visiting parks or other places within 3 miles of our home. We live near downtown Orlando and have bike lanes available on many city streets.

The frame and wheels are solid. The trailer seems very stable when turning tight corners and I've never been concerned about it tipping over. We purchased an extra coupler attachment so that we can easily switch it back and forth from my bike to my husband's bike. It's quick and easy to hook up to the coupler on the rear axle of our bikes.

About a month ago, we sold one of our cars and I now use this trailer about 4 days a week to deliver my son to daycare. Under frequent use, it has not held up. I think we're probably now in the market for a Burley or something made a little better. Small issues include (1) one of the front snaps ripping out so that we have to depend on the shoddy velcro to hold the front... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR, November 2, 2011

This thing folds down for storage in less than a minute and assembles just as fast. It has a 100 lbs weight limit which is twice the limit of some cargo bike trailers which means I can use this for carrying kids, groceries backpacks, luggage, or anything I can fit into it. The reason why it is cheaper than the other Instep trailers is because most other trailers convert into a baby stroller, like the Instep Sierra which is 50% more on the price tag for the same color and capacity. Overall I recommend this buy for first-time bike trailer purchases.

I was SO excited to receive this and couldn't wait to get it assembled and give it a whirl. When assembling, I began to become less and less excited. I was disappointed to find that one of the snaps was bent and will not function (this snap helps hold the top cover down, in addition to the velcro). No biggie... hopefully the velco will hold up. Then, I notice the back reflector is broken. Again... no biggie - I can live with a broken reflector. I finally get to assemble the wheels and find that both the tires are flat and non-functioning. I thought... "all is not lost, I'll just 'air them up'". Well, after spending a half hour trying my hardest to air up the tires... I finally gave up. I don't know if the tubes are busted or if these are just poor quality. I've already assembled the product, have not been able to use yet, and believe it is much too much trouble to have to return. Does anyone have any similar issues and could offer a resolution other than returning? So far, even... Read more
