Anyone picking this up expecting a sequel to Digimon World: Dawn or Dusk is in for a major disappointment. I'll start on that in a minute, for the unenlightened there have been six Digimon World's to date. All combine elements of RPG's with monster raising, usually with an overarching plot.

With DW: World Championship don't expect any of those things. There's no exploring, to hunt monsters you select an area on the map and get transported to a place with a few little digimon running around. you either set traps, then circle them with the stylus and drag them to capture. Yep, you lasso them and bag them, it's as boring as it sounds.

Your farm consists of a hexagonal board where you drop "cages" that have different abilities for training. To use a cage you pick up a digimon and drop him in the cage. That's it. Your digimon will digivolve but you don't know what it'll turn into. After a while it will get nice and strong and then guess what? It'll turn back into an... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars lacking battle control, September 23, 2008

the game itself is fun.i do however think its a back step from dawn and dusk. There is only 200 digimon and that really isnt that many to choose from and also training gets really tedious and boring.also u dont even get to control your digimon in battle so thats kinda a drag.all in all if u like digimon get it and it'll take a up a good week if u got nothin goin on but if your that big of a fan id say wait til the next game comes out.

Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Digimon World Championship (Video Game)
Yes, this game has its flaws. You can't control the fights while battling. However, if you are a fan of digimon, it's a fun game. You can raise your digimon from eggs to megas. I bought this game as a gift for my nephews after I had already bought a copy of this game at a store where I live and paid $19.99 for a USED game, whereas on Amazon, you can buy it for as low as $4.99 for a NEW game. I knew what I was getting into when I bought the game. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but I rather enjoyed trying to make different combinations of digimon every time my digimon would revert to an egg. If this game is something you're interested in, I highly recommend looking up a walkthrough to see all the different digimon you can get in this game and how to get them.
