5.0 out of 5 stars So Easy, July 21, 2011

I got this for travel and for use at the houses of friends and family that don't have wifi. It was so easy to set up. I did not use the mini CD at all. Here is what I did:

- Plugged it into the wired network using an ethernet cable
- Plugged it into the wall power with the power cord included
- Turned it on
- Waited until the leftmost blue light was on solid, indicating network connection
- Turned on my tablet (ACER a500) and went into the wifi settings. The travel router was listed there as EnGeniusxxxxxx (the x's are the individual unit MAC address).
- Chose 'connect' on the tablet and that was it. I was in and had internet connection.

Easiest wifi setup I have had.

To provide security I then went to my browser while connected to the new network, went to 192.168.0.1 (as indicated on the sheet that came with the router) and changed the admin password. Then set the security to WPA2(AES) and gave it a passcode. At this point it... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect companion for my iPad, August 18, 2010

Bought this to use with my iPad and it works great over a WAP2 encrypted connection. I had tried the TRENDnet Wireless-N Travel Router (TEW-654TR) first, but returned after several issues. This Engenius ETR9330 Travel Router worked right out of the box, and I configured it wireless right from my iPad using the browser based admin panel. Really like the multiple SSID feature so I can create my own connection and then provide a different connection for others around me with a different password and different configuration. If you know 0% about configuring a router, I'm not sure how good the wizard is at walking you through changing settings, as I configured manually, and it probably has about any manual setting you could imagine. Also, half the price of an Apple Airport!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the world traveller with an Ipad or MacBook Air, December 3, 2010

This ultracompact (smaller than a pack of cigarettes) wifi router is as good as it gets for a traveller and is a perfect add-on for an Ipad. This product is far superior to an Apple Airport Express. There is no external power supply, the router can be plugged into any AC outlet worldwide, you only need a cheap plug adapter. Initial setup via a web browser is very easy for anybody who has ever installed a home WLAN. For me it worked out of the box, setting a WPA passphrase for added security took a few seconds. No need to use the enclosed mini CD.

Good, but not excellent signal range covering an average size house. Excellent throughput and a complete range of options and settings for the advanced user. Integrated firewall makes connecting to unknown networks a bit less worrisome. Cute 6 inch Ethernet cord adds to the portability.

If you travel with an Ipad or MacBook Air this product is essential and at half the price of Apple's inferior product a bargain.
