If you are seeking a reliable and inexpensive Hot Shoe Flash Receiver this is the product for you! I rarely review products, but I had to give CowboyStudio props for selling a great product at a great price (other receivers will cost 2-4 times the cost than this). I paired my Olympus EP1 with several off camera flashes (FL-14, which came with the camera and the FL-50, which I bought later) and I could not be happier with the results. I have gotten no miss-fires since I've bought it. I am by no means a professional photographer, but I hope to be soon. This product is a must if you'd like to "play" with flash photography on a low budget. I would recommend this product to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm, April 24, 2010

Does exactly what you want it to do. It does not transmit TTL data but if what you want is a remote flash trigger (Popper) receiver for a great price look no further. These are not line of sight and are great solution for taking your flash off camera which is far superior than on camera flash. Step up to the next level of flash photography and get your flash off the hot shoe. Wireless Cowboy studio trigger is required to use these.

I purchased this item as a backup to the initial Transmitter/Receiver I purchased. I should have learned my mistake the first time.

This product DOES work, and works well for your off flash needs, however, the quality of construction of the hotshoe base is far from even useable. Even though it was securely attached (tightening ring tightened but not overly), when was shooting with the rig angled the weight from my speedlight (430 EX) snapped the hotshoe feet right off sending my flash unit banging to the ground!

I have since moved on to a different manufacturer's mount which is metal-based (not cheap plastic) and am very happy.
